Success came nationally for Bobby Rush in 1971 with his hit release "Chicken Heads" on the Galaxy Label.  He reigned as the undisputed
King of the Circuit after releasing hits such as “Sue”, “Hoochie Man”, “Ain’t Studdin’ You” and “Wearin’ It Out” which were released on Warner, Malaco and Ichiban labels respectfully.  With a proven strong work ethic and talent, he began his label called Deep Rush located in Jackson, Mississippi where he currently resides.  Bobby Rush is also immortalized in Martin Scorsese’s film series “The Blues” in the episode “The Road to Memphis”.

In the mid-sixties, Jimmy Reed takes Bobby Rush to perform abroad for the first time in his career. The Blues boundaries were expanded in 2007 when Bobby Rush became the first artist of that genre to ever perform in China. The Badaling Great Wall of China was celebrating its 20th anniversary of being on UNESCO'S list of world treasures. Bobby Rush not only keeps the Blues alive for the next generation of Americans through his work with Blues in the Schools program but introduced it to an audience of over 40,000 Chinese. This was the largest concert ever held by the Great Wall Society. In 2008, the Badaling Great Wall Foundation, which is China's most important cultural organization, named him Friendship Ambassador and US spokesperson for the Great Wall. Bobby Rush is the only American artist to date invited by the China Great Wall Society to inscribe his message of peace on the monument to world peace, which is to be placed at the foot of the Badaling
section of the Great Wall of China at the entrance of the famous “Heaven’s Gate” in 2010. He is scheduled to perform in the Shanghai Expo later this year.

Bobby Rush has performed in every major market in the world. He is enjoying major success within the Asian market even writing a review of the Chitlin' Circuit in Japan. He truly lives by his mantra spoken in Bobby Rush signature style, "I'm going to do all I can while I can and when I cannot do; then, I will not regret the things that I did not do." His immense international travel has made him ever appreciative of the freedoms Americans enjoy. He has performed for our troops in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan. Domestically, he is scheduled to present the 1st annual Red, White and Blues Day for our veterans in October. Along with his accomplishments this year, the State of Tennessee bestowed the title of International Ambassador of the Blues in joint legislation HJR745 in 2010.

Rather it's the Bobby Rush Show with full band and voluptuous dancers or his acoustic performance, the Bobby Rush brand never disappoints. If you love music and appreciate artistry then you must witness a performance by the living legend Bobby Rush.
