Award-winning Blues artist Bobby Rush Lends Support to MS' Best Awards

Though unable to attend the awards dinner on Saturday, October 28, 2006 due to a previous engagement, legendary blues performer Bobby Rush speaks out on the Mississippi's Best Awards 2006.

As plans were being finalized for the MS' Best Awards during the last week of August 2006, Bobby Rush gave a statement of support for the history-making event.

"I stand behind what you are doing to recognize those who might be forgotten," Rush said to the event's founder during a telephone conversation. "It always feels good to have those who know you best acknowledge what you have done."

Rush will be recognized during the Hometown Heroes segment of the awards dinner.
